Middle East: Warnings of Iran's Collapse and Impact on Europe

The situation in the Middle East is escalating, with warnings of a potential collapse of Iran and widespread repercussions for Europe. According to an article by political analyst Guillaume Duval in Social Europe, the ongoing conflict in the region is leading Iran to disintegration, with Europe expected to bear the cost.

Duval draws a parallel between George Bush's invasion of Iraq in 2003 and the current military campaign by the US and Israel against Iran. He points out that despite the apparent legitimacy of the current attack, the situation is extremely dangerous.

The author emphasizes that Iran was already facing serious problems, with its ability to destabilize the region having been hit hard after developments in Syria and the weakening of Hamas and Hezbollah. Unlike other countries such as Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates, Iran does not finance Sunni Islamic propaganda operations in Europe.

Duval warns that the scorched-earth tactics pursued by the US and Israel constitute a ticking time bomb, which will lead to an unimaginable humanitarian crisis and turn Iran into a failed state on Europe's doorstep. A similar fate awaits southern Lebanon.

In conclusion, Duval stresses that the consequences will be devastating for the people of Iran, the wider Middle East and Europe, which will be called upon to pay the cost of the crisis.
