European Jihadists Transferred from Syria to Iraq

The United States has begun transferring detainees, including Europeans who were high-ranking members of the Islamic State, from Syria to Iraq. The Iraqi Prime Minister has called for their repatriation.
Kurdish forces withdrew from prisons and camps in northeastern Syria, following pressure, raising concerns about jihadist escapes.
According to Iraqi officials, Europeans, Asians, Arabs, and Iraqis are among the first 150 prisoners. Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani called on European countries to repatriate their citizens.
The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) withdrew from the al-Hol camp, where relatives of jihadists live, with the UN reporting that the situation is unstable.
A former humanitarian worker reported that detainees took advantage of the "security gap" to escape.
