Netanyahu Denies Order to Shoot Unarmed Civilians in Gaza

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has rejected a report in the Haaretz newspaper that Israeli soldiers were ordered to shoot unarmed civilians waiting for humanitarian aid in the Gaza Strip.

In a joint statement with Defense Minister Israel Katz, Netanyahu called the report a malicious lie aimed at tarnishing the image of the IDF.

The Haaretz report, citing anonymous soldier testimonies, stated that commanders ordered the shooting of crowds at aid distribution centers, even if they posed no threat. The Israeli Military Advocate General has ordered an investigation into possible war crimes.

Civil defense in the Gaza Strip announced the deaths of 62 people, including 10 killed by Israeli fire while waiting for aid.
