Pope Leo XIV Expresses Solidarity with Gaza

Pope Leo XIV expressed the Roman Catholic Church's solidarity with the Palestinian population of Gaza, calling it a "martyred land." The statement was made at the end of Sunday's prayer in St. Peter's Square.
Addressing Catholic associations, Pope Leo XIV stressed that "there is no future built on violence, forced exile, revenge." He welcomed solidarity initiatives for those affected in Gaza.
"Peoples need peace," he added, receiving applause from the faithful.
