Mass Grave Found in Syria; Victims Mostly Women and Children

Another mass grave has been discovered in Syria, with most of the victims being women and children. Civil defense teams recovered the remains of 20 people east of the city of Douma, in the Damascus suburbs, on Tuesday.
According to the state network, most of the remains belong to children and women, and researchers were unable to identify the victims. Civil defense teams reported that no clothing was found on the victims, suggesting they were killed while naked, according to Anadolu.
Since the overthrow of the Bashar al-Assad regime in December 2024, numerous mass graves have been discovered in Syria, the largest of which was near Damascus. A Reuters report stated that during Assad's tenure, 60,000 - 80,000 bodies of victims were transferred to a secret location from mass graves around Damascus.
