Five Al Jazeera journalists were killed in an Israeli strike in Gaza, according to the network. The incident occurred near the Shifa Hospital.

According to Al Jazeera, the strike was a 'targeted' attack on a tent used by the journalists. In total, seven people were killed in the attack.

The deceased journalists are Anas al-Sharif, Mohammed Kouraika, Ibrahim Zaher, Mohammed Noufal, and Moamen Alioua. The Israeli army claimed that Anas al-Sharif was a 'terrorist' who was 'posing as a journalist' and that he was the leader of a Hamas cell.

Al Jazeera has been banned in Israel since May 2024. The international press is not allowed to work freely in the Gaza Strip.

According to various sources, approximately 200 journalists have been killed by the Israeli army since the start of the war.
