Strait of Hormuz Alert Raised to 'Extreme Risk' Amid Attacks

The alert level in the Strait of Hormuz has been raised to 'extreme risk' following a deadly attack on a commercial vessel. EOS Risk Group has increased the risk level to 5/5.
According to the security update, the risk to commercial ships in the Persian Gulf, the Gulf of Oman, and ports in the UAE, Bahrain, and Qatar remains high.
On March 6, the tugboat MUSSAFAH 2, flying the UAE flag, was hit by an unknown projectile, resulting in the death of all eight crew members.
EOS Risk Group advises shipping companies to postpone transit through the Strait of Hormuz and to reconsider approaches to ports and anchorages in the region.
Meanwhile, the United States is intensifying its operations in the Middle East, and significant naval forces are heading to the region.
Iran is reportedly increasing attacks on energy infrastructure in Saudi Arabia.
The escalation is causing concern in the international shipping and energy market, as approximately one-fifth of global oil trade passes through the Strait of Hormuz.
