Syria: Seven Injured in SDF Attack Near Manbij
Share on:

Seven people were injured in Syria in an attack by fighters of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) near the city of Manbij, in the northern part of the country, according to the Syrian Ministry of Defense.

The ministry spoke of an 'irresponsible' attack, the motive of which remains unclear. Among the injured are four soldiers and three civilians.

The head of the SDF and the transitional president of Syria, Ahmed al-Sarah, had agreed on March 10 to integrate Kurdish institutions into the Syrian state. However, the completion of the agreement is delayed, with the Kurds expressing objections regarding the constitutional declaration and the formation of a government.

The Kurds are seeking a decentralized model of governance, which is rejected by Damascus.
