Syria: Negotiations with Kurds Collapse

Negotiations between Syrian Kurds and the Damascus government have collapsed, according to a Kurdish official speaking to Agence France-Presse. The development comes as the Syrian army amasses forces in northeastern Syria.
Kurdish leader Mazloum Abdi and Syrian President Ahmad al-Saraa met in Damascus to discuss the integration of Kurdish institutions into the state. However, Abdel Karim Omar, a representative of the Kurdish administration, stated that Syrian authorities are demanding an "unconditional surrender."
The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) have called on Kurds to "join the ranks of the resistance." Meanwhile, Turkey has warned that it will not tolerate "any provocation" on its territory.
The Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) has stated that it will "never abandon" the Kurds of Syria.
