Syria: Over 134,000 Displaced After Clashes

More than 134,000 people have been displaced in northeastern Syria due to clashes between the Syrian army and Kurdish forces, according to the International Organization for Migration (IOM).
The number of internally displaced persons in the Hasakah province reached 134,803, up from 5,725 on Sunday. The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) retreated to Hasakah after battles in Aleppo, Raqqa, and Deir ez-Zor.
Ahmed al-Sara, the *de facto* president of Syria, announced a four-day ceasefire. The IOM reports that over 41,000 people have taken refuge in the Hasakah province and are in urgent need of food and basic necessities.
Additionally, 1,647 people have fled to Kobani, where there are shortages of food, water, and electricity. Kobani was the first victory for the Kurds against ISIS in 2015.
Donald Trump has stated his support for al-Sara in his offensive against Kurdish forces.
