Giant Christ Statue Erected on Syria-Lebanon Border

A giant statue of Jesus Christ has been erected on the Syria-Lebanon border, in the Al Qaa region. The 16-meter-high statue is located on the so-called Mountain of the Cross and overlooks the Bekaa Valley.
The Bekaa Valley region was bombed by ISIS in 2016. According to the local municipality, the statue was built with a donation from Fadi Elias Awad, as a symbol of faith and resilience.
"From where there was once fear and blood, there is now a symbol of love and hope," the Lebanese municipality said in a statement.
