Tensions in Persian Gulf: "Freedom" Operation in Strait of Hormuz

Tensions are escalating in the Persian Gulf following Washington's launch of "Freedom" operation, aimed at ensuring the safe passage of commercial ships through the Strait of Hormuz.

US destroyers escorted two American commercial vessels, effectively circumventing the Iranian blockade. Shipping giant "Maersk" announced that a subsidiary's cargo ship, under the American flag, transited the Strait with US forces escorting.

US President Donald Trump threatened Iran with obliteration if it interferes with the operation. Iranian media reported that the US targeted two commercial ships carrying goods to Iran, resulting in the death of 5 civilians.
