UNRWA: Gaza Aid Distribution a 'Sadistic Death Trap'

The head of the United Nations agency for Palestinian refugees has described the new aid distribution system in the Gaza Strip as a 'sadistic death trap'.

UNRWA Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini denounced the so-called Humanitarian Foundation for Gaza, noting that snipers are indiscriminately opening fire on crowds of people, 'as if they have orders to kill'.

Lazzarini also accused the Israeli army of engaging in a 'manhunt with complete impunity', adding that at least a thousand people had been killed. He stressed that humanitarian aid cannot be 'the work of mercenaries'.
