British Troops Deployed to Israel to Monitor Gaza Ceasefire

A small number of British troops have been deployed to Israel to participate in a US-led mission to monitor the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, the British Ministry of Defence announced.
British Defence Secretary John Healey stated that London would play a “central role” in the endeavor, at Washington's request. An officer was sent to the political and military administration as deputy commander.
US Vice President J. D. Vance inaugurated the joint US-Israeli CMC in Kiryat Gat, southern Israel, to oversee the implementation of the truce. The United States is sending up to 200 soldiers to Israel, who will not enter Gaza.
The implementation of the ceasefire faces obstacles, with Hamas stressing that it needs time and technical means to locate the remains of hostages.
