Melody is Missing: America Searches for 9-Year-Old Girl

The search for nine-year-old Melody Bazarrd continues in the United States for 35 days. Her mother, Ashley Bazarrd, was the last person to see her but is not cooperating with authorities.

Ashley Bazarrd returned to California without her daughter after a trip to Nebraska. Security camera footage shows the mother and daughter wearing wigs during the trip in an attempt to avoid recognition.

The FBI has taken over the case, as there are serious concerns about Melody's safety. Despite the indications, Ashley Bazarrd has not been arrested for her daughter's disappearance. Authorities are looking for evidence to justify such action.

The investigation began when a school counselor reported Melody's absence from school. Police searched the house but did not find Melody. The mother gave no logical explanation for her daughter's disappearance.

On November 7, Ashley Bazarrd was arrested for another offense related to the illegal detention of an adult male. The case remains under investigation.
