FBI Investigates Joe Kent After Resignation

The FBI has launched an investigation into Joe Kent, former director of the U.S. National Counterterrorism Center, two days after his resignation. Kent resigned on Tuesday (17/3) in protest against the war in Iran.
The New York Times and CBS report that Kent is suspected of leaking classified information. The investigation reportedly began before his resignation.
In his resignation letter to President Donald Trump, Kent stated, "I cannot in good conscience support the ongoing war in Iran." He added that "Iran posed no imminent threat to our nation, and it is clear that we started this war under pressure from Israel and its powerful American lobby."
Donald Trump stated that Joe Kent was "very weak on security" and that his resignation is "a good thing."
