Ghislaine Maxwell Invokes Fifth Amendment Before Congress on Epstein Case

Ghislaine Maxwell declined to answer questions before a House Committee regarding the Jeffrey Epstein case, invoking the Fifth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.
The deposition occurred after months of efforts to secure Maxwell's presence. She is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence in Texas. According to committee members, no new information was revealed.
James Comer, chairman of the committee, stated that Maxwell had the opportunity to answer critical questions but chose to remain silent. Robert Garcia, the ranking member of the committee from the Democrats, added that Maxwell provided no information regarding the case.
Maxwell was convicted in 2022 for aiding Epstein in the trafficking of underage girls. She denies the charges.
