An alert was issued in the mountainous Truckee area of California after a 49-year-old man drove his car into pedestrians outside a grocery store, injuring four people, including children.
According to police, the perpetrator intentionally struck the pedestrians. He has been charged with felony assault and vandalism and was found to be in violation of his parole, as he was serving a sentence in a Nevada prison.
This incident follows another tragedy three days prior in the Westwood neighborhood of Los Angeles, where a 92-year-old driver initially hit a cyclist and then lost control of her vehicle, crashing into a grocery store. Three people were killed and six others were injured.
