12-year-old Sophia Forchas, a seventh-grade student, was injured during a shooting at a Catholic school in Minneapolis on Wednesday, August 27. Sophia is of Greek descent and attends St. Mary's parish.

23-year-old Robin Westman opened fire on students, killing two children aged 8 and 10. The perpetrator possessed three weapons and had reportedly written anti-Semitic messages on the magazines.

Metropolitan Nathanael of Chicago stated that Sophia is very active in the community. Her parents, Tom and Amy Forchas, are by her side. The Metropolitan will travel to Minneapolis to meet them.

The school, belonging to the Annunciation Roman Catholic community, was founded in 1923.
