Michigan: Teacher Admits Relationship with 16-Year-Old Student

A 26-year-old teacher at a private school in Michigan is facing charges after confessing to a colleague that she had a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old student.

Joslynn Sanroman, a teacher at Oakside Prep Academy, faces up to 15 years in prison if convicted of third-degree criminal sexual conduct. The alleged relationship began in 2023. The case was revealed when Sanroman confessed the relationship to a colleague, who then informed the authorities.

The Oakland County prosecutor stated that the defendant exploited her position of authority to take advantage of a minor victim.
