Donald Trump: Reduced Tariffs, Cheaper Drugs
Share on:

President Trump announced an agreement with 16 major pharmaceutical companies to reduce prescription drug prices in the U.S. in exchange for tariff reductions. He also introduced the website TrumpRx.gov, through which insured individuals can obtain coupons for discounted prices.

According to Trump, the U.S. will now procure drugs at the lowest price worldwide, with reductions of up to 600%. However, American media outlets appear more cautious, while acknowledging a significant benefit for the Medicaid program.

The agreement includes popular weight loss drugs, as well as discounts on infertility treatments such as Gonal-F. Companies like Pfizer, Eli Lilly, Novo Nordisk, and AstraZeneca are participating in the agreement.

Through TrumpRx.gov, citizens will have access to drugs at reduced prices, such as Januvia (Merck), Plavix (Sanofi), and Advair Diskus (GSK).
