Harvey Weinstein to Face Third Rape Trial

Harvey Weinstein will face a third trial in the rape case of actress Jessica Mann. The jury in New York failed to reach a verdict in June, resulting in a mistrial.

Judge Curtis Farber wants the new trial to take place before the end of the year. The same jury found Weinstein guilty of sexual assault against Miriam Haley, a former production assistant, in 2006, but acquitted him of the assault against Kaja Sokola.

Weinstein is expected to be sentenced in the Haley case on September 30. He denies all charges. He was convicted in 2020 for rape and sexual abuse, but the conviction was overturned last year.

Harvey Weinstein was the co-founder of the production companies Miramax and The Weinstein Company.
