An American Airlines Boeing aircraft was evacuated at Denver Airport on Saturday (July 26, 2025) due to a fire. Flight 3023, a Boeing 737 MAX 8 bound for Miami, experienced a landing gear issue during takeoff.

The Denver Fire Department confirmed the incident. All 173 passengers and 6 crew members disembarked safely. One passenger was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

According to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the crew reported a possible problem with the landing gear. Social media videos showed passengers descending from the evacuation slides while flames emerged from the aircraft.

American Airlines stated that the problem was related to maintenance, specifically with one of the tires. Passengers continued their journey to Miami on another aircraft. Denver Airport experienced more than 300 flight delays due to the incident.

A similar incident involving a flight from the same company was recorded in March when a plane made an emergency landing in Denver due to an engine malfunction.
