Chicago: Mother Killed in Shooting Targeting Car with Baby Inside

A 26-year-old woman was killed and a 27-year-old man was injured in a shooting in Chicago's South Side neighborhood. Their car, with their baby inside, was targeted in a hail of gunfire with over 50 bullets fired.
According to police, the incident occurred Wednesday afternoon. Following the shooting, the vehicle collided with another car. The woman, who was driving, was transported in critical condition to Little Company of Mary Hospital, where she died. The man is hospitalized in good condition at Christ Hospital.
Father Michael Pfleger reported that an infant was in the back seat of the vehicle, but was thankfully unharmed. The woman's godfather, Pastor Kirk Bell, expressed outrage at the lack of respect for human life.
The perpetrators fled in a red Alfa Romeo. Police are continuing their investigation.
