Texas: Officer Investigated After TikTok Threat About Tickets

Authorities in Texas have launched an investigation into police officer Jennifer Escalera after a TikTok video surfaced. In the video, Escalera implied she would issue tickets to everyone because she didn't have sex the previous night.

In the video, which was later deleted, Escalera was seen writing in a notebook with the caption: "didn't get laid last night so everyone gonna get a ticket today." Although she blurred parts of her uniform, her name remained visible.

A police spokesperson stated: "We are aware of the video and our internal affairs division has launched an investigation. We have no further comment at this time." Escalera joined the force in September 2021 and frequently posted videos on TikTok while in uniform.

Residents of Texas expressed outrage over the video, calling it "unacceptable and embarrassing." Others commented that an officer with such social media activity "cannot be taken seriously."
