Trump Reiterates US Interest Rates Should Be Cut to 1%

US President Donald Trump stated that interest rates in the US should be around 1% or lower, criticizing Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump accused Powell and some members of the Board of Governors of not doing their jobs properly, arguing that a rate cut would save trillions of dollars.

White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt said that Trump wrote to Powell urging him to cut interest rates, pointing to the interest rates in about 25 countries.
