Winter Storm Grips US: Fatalities, Power Outages, and Flight Cancellations

A major winter storm has swept across the United States, leaving approximately 730,000 people without power and causing thousands of flight cancellations. So far, five people have died due to the extreme weather conditions.
More than 190 million Americans are under winter weather alerts, from New Mexico to Maine. The storm, named Fern, is bringing snow, sleet, and freezing rain to many areas.
Over 10,000 flights have been canceled, including all flights at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA). Power outages have affected many consumers in states including Tennessee, Texas, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Kentucky.
The storm is expected to move eastward, affecting areas from Washington D.C. to New York and New England.
