US Winter Storm: 15,000 Flights Canceled, Widespread Power Outages

A major winter storm is sweeping across the northeastern US, causing flight cancellations and power outages. The storm has already hit the central and southern states, leaving hundreds of thousands of homes and businesses without electricity.
The National Weather Service (NWS) warned of potentially "devastating" consequences, with very low temperatures, heavy snowfall, and ice formation. Approximately 900,000 homes and businesses are without power, mainly in the southern states.
At least 20 states have declared a state of emergency. President Donald Trump urged citizens to stay safe and warm.
Many major airports, including those in Washington, Philadelphia, and New York, have suspended operations. Approximately 15,000 flights have been canceled, and thousands more are delayed.
In Houston, Texas, authorities remain on alert as temperatures are expected to drop below freezing. City schools will remain closed tomorrow, Monday.
Authorities warn that the cold will continue throughout the week, with temperatures potentially reaching -45°C in some areas.
