Greece on Alert Amid Israel-Iran Tensions: Heightened Security Measures

Greek Police and the National Intelligence Service are on heightened alert following the escalation of tensions between Israel and Iran and the involvement of the United States.
Reportedly, the Governmental Council for National Security (KYSEA) convened under the Prime Minister's leadership, focusing on internal security matters.
Over 100 targets of American and Israeli interests in Greece are under strict surveillance. A protection network has been deployed around embassies, consulates, diplomatic residences, synagogues, and gathering places of Israeli or American citizens.
The Anti-Terrorism Service and the State Security play a significant role in policing operations, while the information network in migrant accommodation facilities has been strengthened to prevent radicalization.
There is increased concern about migration flows, mainly towards Gavdos and Crete, where control measures at sea and land borders are being intensified.
Greek authorities have developed prevention and immediate response plans, taking into account the geopolitical situation.
