Forest Department Addresses Audit Service Recommendations

The Forest Department announced that it has taken the Audit Service's recommendations seriously regarding the improvement of procedures for new construction projects and the monitoring of related contracts.

According to the announcement, actions have already been initiated to further train staff on contract management issues.

The Forest Department noted that the projects under review in the Akamas National Forest Park area were designed after lengthy efforts to combine the positions of various services and ministries.

Furthermore, the Forest Department states that efforts are being made to restart the first phase of the project with a reduced environmental footprint, provided that the necessary approvals are obtained from the environmental Authority.
