Nicos Tornaritis Elected as PACE Vice-President for 2025

Nicos Tornaritis, head of the Cypriot delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), has been unanimously elected as one of the Vice-Presidents of PACE for the year 2025.
The election took place at the opening of the plenary session of the Third Part of the 2025 Session in Strasbourg. According to an announcement by the House of Representatives, this position is particularly important and holds great institutional and political significance for Cyprus.
As Vice-President, Mr. Tornaritis will participate in the Assembly's Bureau, which sets the strategic direction of the body, makes decisions regarding its operation, and coordinates its activities. He will also serve as Acting President in plenary sessions and official events.
Government Spokesman Konstantinos Letymbiotis stated that the election of Nicos Tornaritis is a recognition of the commitment to the values of democracy, human rights, and the rule of law, strengthening Cyprus' position in European fora.
