Stefanou: Criticism of Government's Accessibility and Unanswered Letters

AKEL General Secretary, Stefanos Stefanou, criticized the government, stating that it is becoming increasingly inaccessible. The statements were made on state radio, on the show "Morning Route," regarding the government's absence from the party's pan-Cypriot conference.
Mr. Stefanou stated that he would have preferred an honest explanation for the absence, rather than excuses. He also complained that letters he sent to the President of the Republic regarding the GESS remained unanswered.
According to Mr. Stefanou, the letters referred to aggressive acquisitions of private capital from Greece, which may lead to an oligopoly in Cyprus and affect the GESS. He claimed that despite handing the letters in person to the Presidential Palace, there was no response.
Answering a question, Mr. Stefanou also referred to the issue of mass real estate purchases by foreign nationals, especially in Limassol and Larnaca by Israelis, and the creation of closed areas with Zionist schools and synagogues.
