Mossad, MI-5, and CYP Cooperate on Azeri Spy Case

Mossad, MI-5, and CYP are investigating the activities of an Azeri spy with a British passport, who allegedly planned a terrorist attack on behalf of the Revolutionary Guards. The suspect's arrest has garnered international attention.
The British Foreign Office has requested information from the Cypriot Police regarding the case. The Greek National Intelligence Service is in open communication with the CYP, and other intelligence services are cooperating through Europol.
The Azeri, who arrived in Cyprus in April claiming to be a tourist, was being monitored by foreign agencies. He used an apartment in a complex in Zakaki as a refuge and monitored the British bases in Akrotiri and the "Andreas Papandreou" base in Paphos.
Following his detention, the suspect was interrogated at Police Headquarters, without cooperating. The investigative team of TAE Nicosia is examining his profile, electronic traces, potential accomplices, hideouts, contacts, and the authenticity of his passport.
A Foreign Office representative stated that they are in contact with the authorities in Cyprus regarding the arrest of the British man. The RAF base in Akrotiri is described as the most important air base of the United Kingdom in the Middle East.
"The Republic of Cyprus certainly cares for the safety of its citizens," a representative stated.
