Farmers and livestock breeders block Rizomylos due to sheep pox

Farmers and livestock breeders have set up a blockade in Rizomylos, closing the old Larissa-Volos national road, protesting against the spread of sheep pox and its impact on their herds.
The president of the Rizomylos Agricultural Association, Theocharis Seskliootis, stated that sheep pox is the final blow to the livestock sector after the floods. He mentioned that he lost half of his herd in the floods and has not yet been compensated.
Farmers and livestock breeders are protesting the lack of protection and support measures from the government, delays in vaccinations, inadequate veterinary services, and lack of compensation.
The president of the Federation of Agricultural Associations of Magnesia, Thodoris Georgadakis, presented the demands of the livestock breeders, emphasizing that these are demands for survival.
The blockade started after 12:00, with farmers using their tractors to block the old national road.
