Filippidis Trial: Prosecutor Proposes Acquittal in First Rape Attempt Case

Prosecutor Andreas Karaflos has proposed the acquittal of Petros Filippidis on the charge of attempted rape, which allegedly took place in 2010 at the 'Mousouri' theater.
The proposal was made at the Mixed Jury Court of Appeals in Athens, where the case is being examined. The prosecutor cited 'numerous doubts' regarding the first complaint.
During his address, Mr. Karaflos referred to contradictions in the complainant's testimony, while also mentioning a possible 'inner consent' or even a 'romantic relationship' between the two parties that may have been terminated.
The prosecutor questioned the fact that the complainant did not report the incident to the police immediately afterwards, nor did she mention it to her relatives. He also stated that rapists usually do not send messages to their victims after the act.
The evidentiary process lasted approximately eight months.
