Farmakonisi: Search for 7-year-old missing at sea

A search and rescue operation is underway to locate a 7-year-old boy who has been missing at sea in Farmakonisi since Monday afternoon, June 23, 2025.

According to the Coast Guard, the child's disappearance was reported by one of the 40 foreigners who were on board an inflatable boat that ran aground on the northern rocky coast of the island.

A rescue vessel, a Coast Guard ship, and a private diver are participating in the search and rescue operation, under the coordination of the National Coordination Center for Search and Rescue (E.K.S.E.D.).
