The 43-year-old arrested for the murder of a businessman on Othonos Street in Lamia confessed to the act to the police authorities.

According to his confession, the victim had insulted his mother, who had died a few days prior. 'I learned that he insulted my mother and I stabbed him' he allegedly told the authorities, while claiming he did not hit him on the head.

The police of Lamia's Security Department had gathered material from security cameras and evidence from the scene of the crime, which led to the identification and arrest of the suspect.

During the search of the 43-year-old's residence, police discovered an entire arsenal of knives and axes. The clothes and shoes he was wearing during the crime were also found.

Reportedly, after the crime, the perpetrator had returned to Othonos Street, pretending to be ignorant and asking what had happened.
