Paphos: 54-year-old victim of fraud with fake fine

A 54-year-old man in Paphos fell victim to fraud after receiving a message regarding the payment of an extrajudicial fine.

According to his complaint to the Police, the 54-year-old received a message on Sunday informing him of an outstanding extrajudicial fine. He followed the link in the message and paid 30 euros.

He then discovered that 1,605 euros had been illegally debited from his bank account and transferred to an unknown account.
