Patrick Walden, Former Babyshambles Guitarist, Dies at 46

Patrick Walden, former guitarist of the British rock band Babyshambles, has died at the age of 46. The news of his death was announced by the band members on June 20 via social media.
In a joint statement, Pete Doherty, Mick Whitnall, Drew McConnell, and Adam Ficek expressed their grief and requested respect for their privacy.
Walden was born in London on October 5, 1978. He joined Babyshambles in 2004, after Pete Doherty's departure from the Libertines, and contributed significantly to the band's musical identity. He co-wrote six tracks from their debut album, "Down in Albion," including "The Man Who Came to Stay."
He left Babyshambles in 2006 but continued to appear occasionally at their concerts. Fans of the band expressed their sorrow on social media, acknowledging his contribution to their music.
Walden had started playing music in his school years, influenced by artists such as Nirvana, Sonic Youth, and Television. He also worked at the Camden Jazz Café, where he had the opportunity to meet artists such as Herbie Hancock and Alice Coltrane.
