Fire in agricultural and forest area of Monemvasia – Extinguishing operation in progress

A fire is in progress in an agricultural and forest area in the Karavostasi area of Monemvasia, as announced by the Fire Service.

The extinguishing operation involves 44 firefighters with 3 teams of foot patrols from the 9th E.MO.D.E., 10 vehicles, as well as 4 aircraft and 1 helicopter. At the same time, water tankers of the Civil Protection are assisting.

The fire broke out in an agricultural and forest area in the Karavostasi area of the municipality of Monemvasia, in Laconia.

Firefighting forces have mobilized to limit the spread of the fire, while strong winds are blowing in the area.
