Seajets: Three ships deployed to transport firefighters to Chios

Seajets has deployed three ships to transport firefighters and equipment to Chios, amidst ongoing fires on the island.

Seajets' contribution began on Sunday, with the high-speed vessel SUPERRUNNER JET 2 transporting the first reinforcement teams. Today, Monday, June 23, the passenger-car ferry AQUABLUE departed from the port of Kavala at 11:00 AM, carrying ground forces of the Fire Department. Additionally, the AQUA JEWEL departed from the port of Piraeus at 4:30 PM, carrying personnel and vehicles.

The company offered the ships without financial compensation, enhancing the operational flexibility of the Civil Protection and the Fire Department. Seajets remains on standby for further assistance, if requested by the competent authorities.

The ship crews are working tirelessly to reinforce the firefighting forces, as the fires in Chios are in full swing and the firefighting forces are trying to protect settlements and forest areas.
