Fire in Limassol Under Control, Residences Protected

A fire that broke out in dry grass, wild vegetation, and garbage near the Spyros Kyprianou Pale de sport stadium in Limassol has been brought under control.
Five fire trucks from the Limassol fire stations, one vehicle from the Department of Forests, Civil Defense, organized volunteer groups, and two firefighting aircraft participated in the extinguishing operation.
During its progression, the fire threatened residences, which were however protected.
The fire burned approximately one hectare of land. A partial recall of personnel from the Limassol Fire Stations was made for operational coverage of the city.
The causes of the fire are being investigated in cooperation with the Police.
