Haris Loizidis New President of Cyprus Football Association

Haris Loizidis is set to take over the Cyprus Football Association (CFA) today, succeeding Giorgos Koumas. The extraordinary general assembly, scheduled to take place at the Hilton Hotel in Nicosia at 12:00 noon, is expected to ratify his election.
The candidacy of Haris Loizidis, who previously held the position of vice president, is supported by 12 members of the general assembly, securing his election for a two-year term (2025-2026 and 2026-2027).
During the assembly, Mr. Loizidis will present his positions and goals for the development of Cypriot football, focusing on collectivity and unity.
Representatives from UEFA and FIFA will attend the assembly. Specifically, UEFA will be represented by Petr Fousek and Marios Georgiou, while FIFA will be represented by Emily Dombs.
The next meeting of the board of directors will discuss who will take over the position of vice president, with various names having been mentioned, such as Fotis Fotiou (AEL) and Foivos Vakκης (Apollon).
Haris Loizidis has extensive experience in the administration of the CFA, having participated in it since 2005, and also served as president of the National Teams Committee. In addition, he is a member of the UEFA Social and Environmental Sustainability Committee.
