Pierrakakis: Banks urged to boost SMEs, investments and brain gain

The Minister of National Economy and Finance, Kyriakos Pierrakakis, called on Greek banks to strengthen small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), public and private investments, and contribute to reversing the brain drain.
In a post, Mr. Pierrakakis stressed that banks should become leading forces in entrepreneurship and investment, not only in Greece but also in Southeastern Europe.
"Defense is not enough. In an era of international uncertainty, we must turn the awareness of risks into the exploitation of opportunities," he noted.
The minister emphasized that the banking system, with its experience, expertise and increased capital, can meet the challenges of the times and contribute to the progress and prosperity of the country.
"We are talking about a moral and national challenge. With the banks at the forefront of development, Greece can surpass its current self," concluded Mr. Pierrakakis.
