Marian Crisan, who won the Palme d'Or at Cannes for the short film "Megatron" and directed the award-winning film "Morgen" and the HBO series "Silent Valley," is preparing to shoot his next project in Romania this August, according to Variety.

The film "Holy Light" is a co-production of the director's Rova Film, Moldova-based Alternative Cinema, and Slovakia's Nukleon Frame, and is funded by the National Film Centers (CNC) of Romania and Moldova and the Slovak Audiovisual Fund.

Speaking to Variety from his homeland at the Transilvania International Film Festival, where he is presenting the film "At King's Gate" as a producer, Marian Crisan explained that the inspiration for his new film project is the ceremony of the Holy Light at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem on Easter Eve.

The film is expected to offer a dramatic portrayal of the religious tradition and the emotions associated with it.
