Greece ranks 9th globally in aging population

According to recent UN data presented by Visual Capitalist, Greece ranks 9th globally in terms of the oldest population for 2025.
The percentage of Greeks aged 65 and over is 24.4%, significantly higher than the global average of 10.4%.
The UN report highlights the increasing trend of population aging worldwide, with many countries being characterized as 'super-aged societies,' where the percentage of people over 65 exceeds 20%.
Greece is among the countries with the most aged societies in the world.
