Pentagon: Iran's Nuclear Ambitions 'Completely Neutralized'

In a briefing from the Pentagon, U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth and Chief of Staff Dan Kane announced that Iran's nuclear ambitions have been 'completely neutralized' following a large-scale U.S. military operation.
Hegseth stated that the U.S. attacks were aimed at 'weakening' and 'destroying' Iran's nuclear capabilities, while also emphasizing that the attack 'destroyed' the Iranian nuclear program without affecting Iranian troops or civilians.
According to the statements, the Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan facilities were 'heavily hit' with bunker-buster bombs and Tomahawk missiles. The operation was named 'Midnight Hammer'.
General Dan Kane reported that seven B-2 stealth bombers were used in the attacks, and that the flight to Iran lasted 18 hours with multiple aerial refuelings. The raids included 14 bunker-buster bombs, more than two dozen Tomahawk missiles, and over 125 military aircraft.
Hegseth noted that the military attack was not aimed at 'regime change' in Iran. Kane added that U.S. forces remain ready to defend their interests in the region.
The preliminary damage assessment of Iran's nuclear facilities is still ongoing, according to General Kane.
